• Focus on what’s important
    • Figuring that out and organizing a list is a priority and time well spent.
    • Check in monthly if progress is being made. Am I avoiding something difficult but important? Why?
    • Stop chasing dopamine hits. It’s ok to miss social media updates or games going on sale. Speaking of games, avoid the super-addictive ones (e.g. deck builders are prime temptations). Don’t buy games unless I’m going to play them right away (even if on sale).
  • Get appropriate rest
    • In 2022 this involved a lot of video games and alcohol. That’s great to zone out, but doesn’t actually recharge me.
  • Make space for creativity
    • Related to getting appropriate rest, but calling out explicitly as it’s one type of rest that I usually don’t prioritize.
  • Avoid comparisons
    • Just do my thing. Worrying about others is largely a waste of time.
  • Journal regularly and track my mood
    • Awareness before action
