- I knew some weeks writing these would be harder than others. Posting in point-form, since my new thing is going for consistency.
- Rough week at work mostly because of just how unsatisfying it was. Short weeks are always difficult as the same amount of work just gets compressed into less time. But I also hyper-focused on a single project at the expense of all others, and wasn’t able to get it done, so now I feel behind on them all. Also got some sad news related to an ex-coworker. :(
- Ended up paying for a one-year license of Filebot because I couldn’t be bothered to write a script to sort my phone pictures, which I copy over to an Unraid NAS using Syncthing, into dated directories. I really didn’t want to fiddle with exif data extraction tools. Filebot’s UI is grotesque, but somehow started making sense after a bit of clicking around. And after I was done I kinda developed an appreciation for it and found it almost refreshing? It’s a Geocities web site in a sea of Mediums and Facebooks.
- I’m late to this, but this video of someone being let go from Cloudflare was making the rounds in January. I wish I had the courage of this woman to push back so professionally, stay composed, and ask very reasonable direct questions. I think the HR folks on the other end don’t wanna be doing this either. They’re just buffer for the jerks who make the bad decisions but don’t want to look in the eye of the people affected.
- Finished reading The Set Boundaries Workbook. “Reading” is loose, because this book is essentially a list of journaling prompts. I saved these to Google Keep. Next step is to feed them into DayOne somehow. Maybe a daily n8n automation that pulls these from Keep and posts to DayOne via an IFTTT webhook. Starting reading Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD. Trust me, I need those solutions.
- Barely gamed this week, but friends pulled me into Fortnite tonight. I never really got into this game, so still feel like a total newb, but it’s always a fun social experience. I contributed by bringing down the average team level for easier match-making.
- Played a bit more of Mario Odyssey with C. They’re not really into video games, but seem to enjoy playing as Cappy. Just borrowing this game from the library for now, since I’m not sure if C’s interest will persist enough to justify the price of the game (and Nintendo games unfortunately rarely go on sale).
- Gonna check out Helldivers 2 next week. I hope my friends will forgive all the squad wipes inevitably caused by my many accidentally misplaced airstrikes (for Democracy).

- F1: Drive to Survive S6E1-3. C and I binge this show whenever it comes out. It’s pretty much the only reality tv show that we both enjoy. Neither of us is into racing, but we enjoy the silly drama.
