• I must’ve been more unsatisfied with work than I thought after last week, because I spent the majority of this one ADHD-hyperfocusing on delivering something I could be proud of. It was a success. I ended up learning a bunch of things in the process and in the end majorly improving the foundation of a system to the point where I could be almost proud of it. Leaving things in a better state than I found them gives me energy, so this was a fulfilling and energizing week. At the same time, it was draining too, as I sacrificed some otherwise healthy and recharging activities (hello, sleep). I took today off, and glad I did, as my brain was still very much in work mode for most of the weekend.
  • Before the aforementioned work hyper focus kicked in, I took my first yoga on Tuesday. Technically, it may have been my second. I think I took one in first year of university. But if I can’t remember it, it doesn’t count, right? Anyway, I enjoyed it! I needed an “on ramp” to get back into fitness after absolutely blowing it off last year, and this fit the bill. I knew I couldn’t just dive into weight lifting, where the injury risks are high, and my ability to curb my enthusiasm is low. I’ll get there eventually, but this one class was an excellent start. I’m going again tomorrow, and thinking of trying another on Thursday!
  • The weather today acted out in the best way possible and served up a high of 16º, which I took advantage of by riding my bike for the first time this year. It was wild to ride in spring attire by the still-frozen bay. About 10k in I reached a point where the snow was still melting and I was just sinking and sliding in it. The weather has made its point and is promising to return to normal for the next couple of weeks, which means single digits, rain, and maybe some snow.
  • Tried out Helldivers 2 and it’s hellish good fun. I’ve only played a few missions, all on the easiest difficulty level for now. I enjoy planet exploration more than the combat, but I’m sure that’ll change as I unlock more gear and memorize the stratagem codes, so I don’t feel like a hunt-and-peck typist trying to write a novel at gunpoint.
  • Watched the rest of F1 Drive to Survive S6. We binged it last year, and this one’s no different. The format is repetitive, but I guess that reflects the F1 season itself? I don’t know much about it. I do wish they did one race a season where they just randomized cars and drivers. Now that would make for a juicy episode! Please steal this idea, Mr. Sulayem, I won’t mind.
